Neil Young is quickly becoming one of my favorite artists of all time. It’s the type of music that you enjoy 2-3 songs until you REALLY start listening. Then the first few times you don’t really care for anything in particular.

Eventually each song begins to become more and more attractive with each successive listen. And before you know it, you’re wondering if that rockabilly alblum he did would be really THAT bad.

And what the hell is going on with trance music the last 5 years? It seems I haven’t enjoyed a new song since I first heard Digweed’s progressive Global Underground 019 five years ago. Every once in a while I fire up Digitally Imported but the only songs I really get into are the same ones I did years ago. Is nobody producing good stuff anymore?

Epic/Vocal Trance used to be one of my great private pleasures. I’d fire up the turntables, put on a Major League or Armin van Buuren record and spend a Saturday morning in bed and get up and have breakfast at lunch time.

But alas - I sold all that nonsense years ago. Guess it’s time to grow up.

Now that he has been cleared of molestation charges, I’m sure it’s politically correct to announce this publically….. or is it?

I mean, the guy is a fantastic musician but has a messed up personal life. Working with Quincy Jones is nothing to snuff at, and on the Bad reissue Jones talks about how MJ really developed in the studio from then on. I can tell you this - the Essential Michael Jackson is one alblum that will not be leaving my IPOD any time soon.

And I really feel he did get screwed by Sony on the last alblum. Despite what others say.

I remember we used to make fun of Samir for liking MJ. I would take part in the mocking while concealing my true feelings. He had the minerals back then to stand up and I finally do.. .10 years later.

So there it is - flame away.
