Reuters is reporting that Bono is disgusted by Canada’s lack of increased monetary commitment to the Live 8 cause.
Here’s a clue Bono : dumping money into nations does not help them. Warlords line their pockets with the money and the people see very little. There are MUCH more constructive ways to help a country get back on it’s feet. If they don’t know how to manage what money they have, how is increasing their coffers going to help at all?
It’s just a hands off way to say you’re helping the unfortunate. There are a lot more constructive ways we can help these people without handing them a wad of cash.
He also added:
He’s very difficult to deal with because he won’t agree to things that he doesn’t believe he can deliver, although that is very frustrating and annoying and infuriating
What would you rather Martin do Bono? Agree to things that he doesn’t think he can deliver and then back out at the last minute when people are counting on him?
