Gwen Stefani’s Rise And Fall
Rob is right. Gwen Stefani is really sucking it up lately.
I mean, I’m sure that her cash flow situation is 100x better than it was 10 years ago, but come on. Her music certainly isn’t better (Or even similar).
In fact, I’ll go so far as to say that every radioplayed new song is basically shit the last few years. Remember when manufactured bands used to be a GOOD thing (Led Zeppelin or the Travelling Wilburys) ?
But just because I think it’s awful doesn’t mean I probably wouldn’t do the same thing. When someone starts stuffing money into your hand it’s really hard to say no to anything. Just ask Tom Delay what he thinks of RICO.
The Withers Hitchin’
Just back from Cape Breton where Dave got married. Classy wedding with a fantastic meal. Stayed at a Quality Inn with a pool so I got swimming once and made it to the Casino Friday night after the family party. Won some cash playing blackjack and then just broke even. There were no craps availible so I didn’t play too much. Dave did well, pocketing $35.
Watched a fellow drop $400 in 5 minutes at the blackjack table. He had some HARD luck.
Drive was long both ways but we got to stop in and see where Kara’s parents live. Really cool people and a great house - semi secluded with a really nice backyard.
My calorie limited intake took a huge hit this weekend as well. Oh well, I was back to normal yesterday. Borrowed my father’s car instead of renting one for Dyke’s wedding this weekend. A crazy amount of nuptuals going on lately - who will be next? I should make a poll.
Can’t wait to hit up the Ardmoor Tea room in Hfx.

Anti-Sidewalk Protests?
Did I miss some anti-sidewalk protesters lately in the newspaper? Is there a reason they’re tearing up almost every sidewalk on my walk to work?
There are a lot of stakes driven and pink paint markings in the dirt but workers are nowhere to be seen. Perhaps It’s god punishing me for not going to church last Sunday.

A New Method of Sexual Education
MSN has a report on Nashville Parents that Hired a Stripper for Their 16 Year Old Son.
Guess the old ‘Here’s a book son!’ method of teaching kids about sex has evolved a bit. Apparently ‘even grampa was there’.
