CNN is Reporting that Wal-Mart pulled GTA : San Andreas from it’s shelves last week.

Wal-Mart spokesperson Karen Burk said the company is in the process of pulling the game from its shelves nationwide, which it expects to complete by end of day Thursday. This is primarily due to the ‘unlockable’ sex scenes that are in the game. The only way to view them is by downloading a software patch which allows you to ‘hack’ into the hidden scenes. They are not available in the game by default. They also do not depict any nudity, unless another ‘hack’ is applied.

I really feel that the whole media frenzy around this game really gets to me after a while. Just constant hammering at something I feel should be an non-issue.

Meanwhile, looking at some things that ACTUALLY matter to me but generally go unreported :

US congress has passed an amendment to the country’s criminal code veiling an obvious anti-pornography agenda in ‘child protection’ laws.

In the name of ‘Freedom’, the Patriot Act has long enabled government officials to bypass the courts on items such as wiretaps or arrests.

A man was murdered by London police that had nothing to do with the subway bombings.

A man’s vehicle was shot 96 times by LA police who thought he was someone else. He got hit 4 times and survived (Can’t even find a link to this one anymore).

Yet, despite all this, the one issue that continues to be all over the news lately is a foolish video game? Come on Jack Cafferty, get real.
